Discover the Remarkable Versatility of Hemp Seed Oil

It’s time to venture beyond stock-standard oils and discover the versatility of hemp seed oil.

Hemp seed oil is a nourishing and raw superfood made by cold-pressing the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant, similar in the way that olives are cold-pressed to make olive oil.  Just to be clear, hemp seed oil is NOT the same as cannabidiol (CBD) oil. The production of CBD oil uses the stalks, leaves, and flowers of the cannabis plant.  Hemp seed oil is produced, well… just as it says, from the SEED.

And guess what?  It’s not only for drizzling on your salad!  100% Pure New Zealand Hemp Seed Oil is so naturally versatile you can:

  • Eat it raw to boost heart and brain health, reduce inflammation, and improve chronic skin conditions
  • Apply it topically as a skincare product to nourish and relieve problem skin conditions or as a natural massage oil
  • Restore and finish natural timber, chopping boards and wooden furniture
  • Condition leather shoes, belts, and horse tackle.

The most obvious use for hemp seed oil is as a nutritious and delicious food product or supplement. As a culinary ingredient, hemp seed oil can be used in dressings, sauces, pestosmoothies and soup. Alternatively, enjoy the unique flavour by taking 1 tablespoon a day on its own.

Hemp seed oil can be used to provide a natural finish to nourish and protect wooden surfaces

In its favour, hemp seed oil is non-toxic and chemical-free and can be safely used on your chopping boards and benchtops. You can confidently slice tomatoes, knead dough, and protect your wooden tableware without contaminants. Other oils may be made with toxic chemicals and potentially harmful elements.
Hemp Wood Oil
For wood preservation, apply with a clean cloth or brush. Let the oil penetrate for 15 minutes or so, wipe off any excess and then buff the surface with a clean cloth. Apply one to three coats, allowing two hours between coats.
Hemp seed oil is great for conditioning leather and clearing up scuffs and scratches on shoes, bags, belts, upholstery, and saddles etc. It’s a non-drying oil, so it’s perfect for use on leather surfaces. Rub in the oil, leave a few minutes, and then wipe with a rag to remove the excess. You can complete the process by adding a layer of beeswax to seal the leather. Alternatively, you can save yourself some time and purchase our Natural Hemp Shine Polish with NZ Beeswax.
