Here’s a new and healthy plant-based dip to try!
Edamame beans are whole, immature soy beans. You can find them deshelled in free-flow bags in the frozen vegetable aisle of your supermarket. They should be cooked before use. Edamame beans and hemp hearts both contain an exceptionally healthy nutritional profile with very good levels of protein, dietary fibre, and micronutrients.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups frozen and shelled edamame beans
- ½ cup hemp hearts
- 2 tbsp tahini
- 2 cloves finely grated garlic
- 1 tsp finely grated ginger
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup water (approx)
- Drizzle of Hemp Seed oil
- Chili oil (optional ingredient for including or drizzling)
- To Garnish
- Hemp hearts
- Edamame beans
- Extra hemp seed oil
Directions
- Cook edamame beans by adding them to boiling water and simmering for five minutes.
- Drain in a colander and run under cold water to cool, set aside until cool.
- Blend edamame beans with hemp hearts, tahini, garlic, ginger, salt and enough water to create a smooth dip. (Taste and adjust seasoning as desired)
- Drizzle with a little hemp seed or chili oil and a scattering of hemp hearts to serve.
